Now this is something for the real ice cream lovers. Every kids favorite, since recently popular Cake Batter Ice Cream Recipe made in the comfort of your home. Of course this requires a modern ice cream maker but hey if you don’t own one is time for you to spoil yourself. If you want to be the cool parent this is the ice cream flavor that will bring you that title. Let’s get straight to the recipe.
Cake Batter Ice Cream Recipe
- 1 cup whole milk well chilled
- 1 /2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups half and half well chilled
- 2 tsps pure vanilla extract
- 3 /4 cup cake mix
- 1 /4 cup rainbow sprinkles
Place freezer bowl of ice cream maker into the freezer. Freezer for 12-24 hours.
In a medium bowl, whisk the milk, sugar, half & half, and vanilla until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in cake mix, making sure there are no lumps.
Pour mixture into the freezer bowl and let mix until it has thickened (about 25-30 minutes).
During the last 5 minutes, pour in rainbow sprinkles.
Remove ice cream from freezer bowl and place into a separate container. Place ice cream into the freezer to further harden for several hours or overnight.
Remove from freezer about 15 minutes before serving.
